Father Sava Janjić

A 44th Abbot of Dečani, born on December 7, 1965 in Dubrovnik, Croatia.

After having completed his elementary and secondary education in the town of Trebinje (Herzegovina), he read English Language and Literature at the Faculty of Philology, University of Belgrade. After graduation in 1989, he joined the brotherhood of Crna Reka (Black River) monastery. The following year he was ordained a deacon at the monastery of Dečani where he arrived along with Father Theodosius, the current Bishop of the Raška and Prizren Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

In 1993, he was ordained a priest. In 2010, he was raised to the level of Archimandrite.

He became a member of the Provisional Council, set up by the United Nations as the first provisional institution of the UN interim administration in Kosovo. He represents the Serbian Orthodox Church at numerous international meetings and seminars. He has been famously nicknamed "cybermonk" due to his website, addressing Kosovo issues, created in 1996.

He is the current editor-in-chief of the website of the Raška and Prizren Diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church - www.eparhija-prizren.com.
